The Shaming of David Ahenakew

Former Aboriginal leader David Ahenakew is on trail for hate crimes in Saskatoon. He is on trial for statements made at a conference of the Federationof Saskatchewan Indian Natives where he told a crowd of several hundred that the Jews were responsible for starting World War II.

Yesterday, at his trial, he said the same thing.

Mr Ahanakew testified it was the Germans who told him when he served overseas in the military after the war.

I happen to believe that he should not be on trial. It should not be a crime to believe, or say, hateful things. But, the Aboriginal community should be ashamed of him....and it's sad to see the spectators at the trail screaming that the prosecutors are racist. They should just leave the racism to Ahenakew.
