Time for a flat tax....

Tax season is here, and I find it way too complex and difficult. I lived in Hong Kong for 2 1/2 years, and their flat tax system is fantastic. Their tax form is only about half a page, and takes about 5 minutes to fill out. In Singapore, they don't have a flat tax, but a system with very few deductions. As a result, their tax form is just 2-3 pages and takes you only slightly longer to fill out. There's no good reason for the complexity of our system - nor should there be any reason for anybody to hire lawyers or accountants to help with your taxes.

Here's a small article on the flat tax...
Other countries certainly seem to realize the importance of “tax competition.” Eight nations in Eastern Europe have adopted flat taxes, for instance, including a 13 percent flat tax in Russia. Two of the countries, Romania and Georgia, adopted the flat tax this January, and Poland just announced that it will be hopping on the flat-tax bandwagon.
