A case history in censorship...
Here's a fascinating account of censorship at Science magazine.
Basically, Benny Peiser of Liverpool John Moores University, challenged an article in Science regarding scientific studies of global warming. His research contradicted an earlier study claiming that scientific papers were basically all unanimous in their support of global warming being caused by humans.
The magazine told Peiser to re-write his letter and whittle it down to 500 words. After he did that, he was told it would not be printed.
