The NDP wants to go on a shopping spree....
Uh, oh, it looks like there might be a whole lot of spendin' going on...
The New Democrats hint the minority Liberals' struggle to hold onto power could ease a bit if Paul Martin is willing to provide more concessions to the NDP.
The NDP, which has already won $4.6 billion in new federal spending in exchange for propping up the government, said yesterday it might be willing to support the Liberals in any future confidence votes if the government were to do more for some of the party's key causes, including electoral reform and environmental protection.
"We're going to talk to caucus and see if we can come up with a list of things that we would like some action on," said NDP strategist Jamey Heath. "Once that is done, then we will see if there is any interest from the government."
