More on Live 8 and political correctness...

We blogged earlier about complaints that not enough black artists were playing at the Live 8 concerts. The arguing continues.
A ROW has erupted between Damon Albarn, the lead singer of Blur, and Bob Geldof, the organiser of Live 8, over the lack of black artists performing at next month’s concerts.

Condemnation of the “Anglo-Saxon” line-up came on the day it was announced that two of the best known black artists were being added to the bill.

Albarn said yesterday that the concerts will not represent Britain’s racial mix or modern Africa; Geldof said that Albarn, who also sings with Gorillaz, does not understand the political aims of the events and Gorillaz have not sold enough records to be asked to perform.
My view is simple...the skin color of the artists is irrelevant....the only thing that is relevant is helping Africa.
