Another gender gap....

Ever notice that women don't get quite the same punishment as men. Here's a case from Scotland.

A woman who killed a grandmother in a row over a parking space should have been jailed for the attack, appeal judges have heard.

Following the attack on Ann Whittle, 58, at a car boot sale, Carol McMillan, 34, admitted culpable homicide and was given probation and community service.

The Crown has contested the "unduly lenient" sentence.

The Court of Criminal Appeal heard how witnesses described McMillan as "mental, berserk and out-of-control".

Judge Lady Dorrian sentenced McMillan, a mother-of-two, to three years' probation and 240 hours' unpaid work.

Mrs Whittle of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, had an undiagnosed coronary condition and died of a heart attack following the attack by McMillan.
