How's this for being politcally-correct? This is from the Ottawa Citizen today.
A Noval Scotia high school outing to see a stage adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird", the acclaimed novel that put racial prejudice in the American South under the microscope, was cancelled after the book was deemed inappropriate for teaching because it could make black students uncomfortable, a school board official said yesterday.It makes me ill reading the article. So what if some students are uncomfortable? "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a classic, and nothing negative can come from studying it.
