My first gay wedding....
My boyfriend and I went to our first gay wedding yesterday and it was terrific. There were about 55 people there - lots of good music and good food.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house when the couple took their vows. Including me! And, it really brought home the humanity of same-sex marriage, and why it's completely necessary for our society. The plain fact of the matter is that love is love - no matter your sexuality. The urge to bond with that special person transcends sexuality - and is a social good for society.
I can't wait until we can all put Same-Sex Marriage behind us, and get on with the real issues affecting Canada.

That cake is cute . . . based on one of my fave Martha Stewart cakes:

I used to do wedding consulting, and it's one of the loveliest cakes I've ever seen - just right for a couple of fellows, too, the way they had it done.
I'm glad it was enjoyable. Due to stereotypes even within the community, I fear some grooms may suffer even more anxiety than many brides . . . a friend of mine back home told me that part of him wanted to have a big 'do', and part of him just wanted to run off to Vermont, just the two of them, "so there wouldn't be any cats to judge the food, the decor, the music, anything!"
I thought the cake was cool, too.
