Iraq's economy is booming...
You'll never read this sort of stuff in your newspaper.
Though the economy expanded by an unimpressive 2.6% in real terms in 2005, that figure is scheduled to reach over 10% this year, as reported by the International Monetary Fund. Dawn Liberi, director of the U.S. Agency for International Development in Iraq, noted in February that per capita income has increased from $500 at the time of the invasion in 2003 to $1,500 today.

Not bad at all, considering it was $8000 at one point...
Alot of the growth comes from the demand for caskets and ammunition. Tradespeople are in high demand to repair the sabotaged infastructure. Mosque repairs are also booming. Another decade of this growth and Iraq may be back to where it was prior to the invasion. Fingers crossed.
Oh ya, tourism is up, with all the foreign fighters.
