Could we send Maude Barlow and Naomi Klein there too?
Perhaps there is a tree they can live in Canada too....
Singer song-writer Joan Baez lent her voice to a new cause Wednesday, as she moved into a tree to protest the planned demolition of a Los Angeles farm.
"I don't know how long I'll be here," Baez said. "I'm not pretending this is a long tree sit."
The 65-year-old Baez was joined by Julia "Butterfly" Hill, who spent more than two years living in a redwood in California so loggers wouldn't cut it down.
Hill left the tree in 1999, after reaching a settlement with Pacific Lumber Co. to leave the 26-meter redwood standing.
Hill told The Associated Press the two would live in the Los Angeles tree in shifts, along with other protesters.
The sitters have two platforms in the tree, while supporters have set up a camp on the ground.
