Our ridiculous gay press....

The latest issue of Capital Xtra, the gay newspaper in Ottawa, has a ridiculous article by Ariel Troster, a self-professed gay activist, on the war on terror. Here is a quote:
Both of my grandfathers fought the Nazis in the Second World War, and I wonder why their actions seem somehow virtuous, in comparison to the modern-day fight against terror where it's hard to separate the good guys from the bad guys.
Wow! She can't distinguish between Al-Qaeda and the Bush administration. She obviously thinks they are morally equivalent!

I'm speechless.

I think the writer was trying to draw a parallel between the fact that in national wars your enemy is easily identified. In the war on terror the enemies homogenous nature and ability to blend in anywhere is a problem.

Just a thought... I haven't read the full article.

she's a moron; the good guys wear uniforms the bad guys don't, the good guys try to avoid injuring innocents (despite what left wing yahoo's say) the bad guys go out of their way to kill & injure innocents; no its not hard to tell the difference; what is hard, is understanding the defeatist, accomodating mentality of these dweebs.

I have to disagree with "les mackenzie" who wonders if it's to do with the enemy not being easily identified that led Ariel Troster to make that statement. She didn't mean anything of the sort...in her mind, the Americans are no better than the terrorists.
Well, Ms. Troster, I have yet to see Americans beheading hostages and strapping explosives to themselves to take out innocent civilians. I have yet to see the American soldiers be given orders to exterminate people that aren't of the Christian religion. And when some rogue soldiers do take it upon themselves to commit atrocities (Abu Ghraib) then they are punished for it.
Speaking of atrocities at Abu Ghraib...I don't think many lefties really know what atrocities are. I just finished a book called "Flyboys" about 8 American POWs who were held by the Japanese during WWII. Seven of these guys were executed by the Japanese and most of them were eaten by the camp commanders. Now THAT'S an atrocity.

I see the same paradoxical irony with the gay parades, while the gay lobby groups demand equality, many men are allowed to walk naked
in front of little boys and in Toronto Mayor Miller rides in the parade with police chief Blair.

If heterosexual pedophiles aren't condoned, then why are homosexual ones allowed to flaunt their parts in public to little children as a act of pride.

So if the Muslim countries and North America are all just morally equivalent, as the writer implies, then it probably wouldn't make much difference to the 'progressive' gay press where they live, or publish.

As a matter of fact, there is a dearth of gay publications in Iran - perhaps some 'progressive' gays would like to move there and start a magazine. A brilliant idea if I do say so myself, I'll be the first to congratulate them on their success.
