Here we go again...

I don't usually agree with the Pope...but perhaps he has it right this time....
Pakistan's legislature unanimously condemned
Pope Benedict XVI. Lebanon's top Shiite cleric demanded an apology. And in Turkey, the ruling party likened the pontiff to Hitler and Mussolini and accused him of reviving the mentality of the Crusades.

Across the Islamic world Friday, Benedict's remarks on Islam and jihad in a speech in Germany unleashed a torrent of rage that many fear could burst into violent protests like those that followed publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.

By citing an obscure Medieval text that characterizes some of the teachings of Islam's founder as "evil and inhuman," Benedict inflamed Muslim passions and aggravated fears of a new outbreak of anti-Western protests.
Are we now going to have weeks of violent protests?

Here we go again indeed. Muslims the world over are protesting in the streets. Absolute insanity continues to prevail. In baghdad, dead bodies are being found everywhere, tortured with a power drill to the knees/arms/HEAD! I can't comprehend the suffering and horror these men endured. Religion of peace my ass. The anti war leftist freak show continue to inspire and motivate the enemy. I am presently arranging to airlift several tons of humanitarian support for the starving masses. (I hope their 'religion' doesn't prohibit the consumption of fresh spinach!)

Well, I saw a bobble head Jesus the other day, so why don't we get 20,000 Christians to riot in the streets of Rome...or NYC...or Atlanta...or London.

Oh, wait, because we're Western Civilization and we are above killing and threatening people that insult our religion. At least most of the time (with the exception of the thought police in Sweden and Italy, etc.)

The point of the matter is that the Islamists reaction to anything which no matter how slightly offends their religion act out in a completely inappropriate manner. They only go to show, yet again, how Islam is not compatible with western civilization.

They didn't even bother to note that the Pope didn't say whether he agreed with the quote or not. He just quoted the guy.

So even if I quote something in a historically correct manner, I can cause riots of tens of thousands of people (i.e. Damascus)?

The Muslim inferiority complex is well and truly deserved with these daily displays of their backwardness.
