Let's get this over with...
It looks like the Conservatives don't have the votes to get this passed.
The Canadian government will introduce a motion to re-open the issue of same-sex marriage the week of September 25 a Montreal newspaper reported on Wednesday.Harper's made a commitment to never bring this up again...so let's hope his word is good.
The French language La Presse reports that the motion will be presented shortly after Parliament resumes sitting and quoting party sources the paper says that the Conservative government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper expects to lose the vote.

The Marriage Act should be repealed so that marriage would be left legally un-defined.
Every individual would then be equal before and under the law regardless of what types of relationships they have - we should have equality.
Marriage would of course still exist for anyone that wants it - the Church performed marriages for centuries before the Canadian government came along, they and other religions will do just fine.
Secularists can do their own thing, which is pretty well what they do now anyhow.
Repeal the Marriage Act(s), equality for all.
Lets hope this motion fails, for many reason;
1) Any law passed would not make it passed a Section 15 chanllange.
2) It is a huge waste of time, money at the tax payers expense
3) The world didn't come to end when the Liberals passed their rubber stamp law, my marrage to my wife means just as much now as it did before SSM.
The Christian Right need to let go of this issue and move on with their lives.
How the hell could you, a homosexual, support such a homophobic party as the Conservatives? I'm ashamed that you call yourself gay.
Me? My sexual orientation is no-one's business but mine alone, but if I were gay, I'd be demanding that Harper recind that stupid promise....Any free vote on a human right will result in the loss of votes, and the loss of seats.
