Kofi Annan is wrong....
He believes that peace in the middle east will ease the urge for global jihad. He's wrong.
U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Monday that any effort to stop growing violence between Islamic and Western societies must include an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict.The group of experts included former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami and South African activist Desmond Tutu...both of whom are hostile to Israel.
Annan spoke after receiving a report from a high-level group of experts on ways to alleviate Muslim-Western clashes and misunderstandings.
"We may wish to think of the Arab-Israeli conflict as just one regional conflict amongst many," said Annan, who leaves his post at the end of the year. "It is not. No other conflict carries such a powerful symbolic and emotional charge among people far removed from the battlefield."
I get nervous when they say that want a development of a report "analyzing the Israeli-Palestinian landscape dispassionately and objectively". I know what that means.
Do they really believe that al-Qaeda will stop its declared war on the US if there were peace? More importantly, how on earth can there be "peace" when the Palestinians can't control their own militias? Or, when the party that makes up the Palestinian government has a charter that calls for the destruction of not only Israel, but all Jews?
I am all for peace in the Middle East. But, Israel has tried repeatedly for peace; it has given back lands; dismantled settlements, empowered the Palestinians, etc. and all of this was returned with suicide bombs, Kassam rockets and a determination to destroy the country.

One more time...This is NOT about Israel! This is a global jihad by fascists who cloak themselves as a religion. Make no mistake, this would not end if Israel suddenly vanished. The quest for world domination is the stated goal. Israel is simply their most immediate goal.
Kofi Annan is a stooge of the fascists controlling Islam. That's why he has provided them with human shields while they re-arm Iran's forward army in Lebanon to cite just one example.
He's also up to his eyeballs in corruption... or as they call it in africa, 'business as usual'. His son was implicated in the UN supervised 'oil for food' fiasco.
"The United Nations is... The weak little sister of the looney left."
Just look at the bang-up job they did in Rwanda... never mind the 28 years they've been "observing" in Lebanon.
