Climate change denial is hurting the Harper government, and Stephane Dion is picking up the lost support.

Climate change and global warming are happening.

Dr. David Suzuki is proving, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that climate change deniers are liars and arrogant hypocrits.

Oh, try putting that Tim Ball into google, and look at all the dirt that comes out!

I just posted it on another blog - http://no-libs.com/?p=1510 (Warning, the owner and most of the commenters think that liberals are all satanic monsters trying to destroy America and force people to live in mud huts)

---

Full name Timothy F. Ball. Former head of the lobbying group Friends of Science, an an organisation founded to lobby against the Kyoto treaty and funded indirectly by oil companies and accused of fabricating data on global warming. Currently head of the similar Natural Resources Stewardship Project, also accused of recieving oil-industry funding, but which cannot be proven as the organisation refuses to reveal its funding sources. However, two of its three directors are also exacutives of the High Park Advocacy Group, a lobbying organisation which has been hired by several energy companies including the Canadian Electricity Association and Canadian Gas Association. Both of those two directors have also been involved in lobbying against enviromental controls on behalf of those companies.

Tim Ball is currently involved in a national tour giving speeches detailing his arguments against climate change. Although he claims never to “have recieved a nickel from the oil and gas companies,” he has admitted that he is paid for those speeches by High Park, who also pay his travel costs and hotel bills for the tour.

The organisations and individuals mentioned are investigated more throughly in the CBC documentory The Denial Machine. I havn’t seen it, but it only took a little digging to turn up what I just said. Just put his name in google, and all that turns up easily.

Who's funding the myriad of other scientists quoted in the documentary (which clearly Toronto Twink hasn't bothered watching)?

You have a right to your opinion, Toronto Twink, but what are your credentials? But, more to the point, what are David Suzuki's credentials? Take a gander at his web site, click on About Us at the top right, then on the good doctor's name on the left, and you will come to his Brief Biography. It describes him as a geneticist (first sentence of fourth paragraoh of his biography). Click on the word here near the top, under the good doctor's name, and as indicated you will get his CV. It gives his complete academic and scientific credentials. Not once is climatology, atmospherics, or meteorology (the science dealing with phenomena of the atmosphere, expecially weather processes and weather forecasting) mentioned.

One would think that if he had scientific or academic credentials concerning global warming or climatology, he would trumpet them aloud, and not hide them. One can only conclude that he has no such credentials.

When he speaks on climatology or global warming or Kyoto, he is therefore speaking on a topic completely outside his area of scientific expertise, which is his right, of course. Nevertheless, his views on Kyoto and climatology and global warming have no more authority than yours or mine.

Why am I going into all this? Frankly, I am tired of Kyotologists like Toronto Twink singing the praises of Dr Suzuki like he was a great high priest, and insulting Kyoto Treaty skeptics by calling them deniers (disgracefully and emotionally evoking comparisons with racist Holocaust deniers) and using other choice personal insults. It would be nice if Toronto Twink addressed the issues made by Kyoto Treaty skeptics, but I am not going to hold my breath.

Toronto Twink has bought into the whole GW scare campaign, lock stock and barrel!

Perhaps Toronto Twink is being funded and paid by the GW syndicate.

I suppose Peter Moore is in the pocket of Big oil as well?

It is amazing the people actually buy into this GW BS.

The only support Harper has lost is people who would have never voted Conservative anyway...therefore nothing lost, nothing gained!

And I guess Suzuki getting money from Atco and Encana, is not to be mentioned? As if his shite don't stink but every "denier" is a big oil lapdog? Get real, Suzuki is the fraud, I hope his comments about PM Harper to elementary students lose him his non-profit status. He was on CBC stating that PM Harper was so far up Bush's A$$, if that isn't political I don't know what is, this Liberal mouthpiece needs to go.

You know, you could easily cure Twink of his Suzuki-worship by forcing him to spend an hour with Dr. Bug-breeder. Suzuki personality is somewhat less than winsome.

Hmm... so, thats one champion campaigner discredited on each side :> One for recieving indirect payments from companies that benefit from their campaign, and one for attempting to use credentials valid only in other fields.

If someone wants to name other scientists in that program, I will google on them too.
