A Cold Winter Coming????

A meteorologist argues that perhaps we might have a cold winter in North America...
It was an outstanding winter for us in part of South America. Buenos Aires in Argentina had its first snow since 1918. Southern Brazil experienced 4 consecutive months of cold and below average temperature with daily and all-time records.

Santiago, Chilean capital, had its coldest winter since the Little Ice Age. The last time it was so cold there was in 1885.

Our winter here in the southern hemisphere raised serious questions among people concerned on global warming. Scientists were predicting warmer winters. So, what happened, people asked. I believe questions will be raised in the next months also in the US.

AGW Fanatics always say we won't see the effects of Global Warming for 50 years then always point to real time examples where there is unusual weather that supports the theory (but not weather that would not support it.

Well, as has been pointed out one winter means nothing in terms of Global Warming, so please don't think I'm pushing a Global Warming connection, but this IS just one meteorologist who's basically saying that he's right and the NOAA is wrong. (I'm not going to invest in parkas on that!).

Now, maybe he is, and maybe they are, but I have to believe the NOAA was aware of the winter experienced in the Southern hemisphere (given that this meterologist's numbers for South America come from... wait for it... the NOAA), and that the NOAA is aware of the correlation between Southern Winters and Northen Winters when it came up with its predictions.

I also find it somewhat humourous that this meteorologist is using NOAA temperature readings for the Southern hemesphere to claim that the NOAA predictions for the Northern hemisphere must be wrong.

Finally, I suspect that when this meterorologist says "scientists were predicting warmer winters" he's not talking about scientists' predictions for this winter in the Southern hemisphere, but the general misunderstanding that "global warming means it will get hotter everywhere" and that he's doing the exact thing that lemon is warning of, in the opposite direction (i.e. we had a cold winter, and global warming's supposed to mean things get hotter, so climate change can't be happening).

Well (OK, here I'll make a GW connection, but I'm not REALLY making it, I'm just saying...) Climate Change is predicted to result in more EXTREME weather. Not necessarily warmer weather. So, while not evidence of ANYTHING... snow in Chile and mild winters in Montreal (if that's what we get) hardly goes against the grain of the theory of Climate Change. Again, one winter means NOTHING, BUT, snow where it never snows, and no snow where it always does is actually exactly the sort of thing that the climate models predict.

Regardless, the weather (whether because of changes in the climate or not) sure is weird though. It was over 30 degrees in Kitchener last week for the Oktoberfest parade (unheard of!), and a week later, it's 20 degrees cooler. It may not be climate change... but it's FREAKY!

These climate alarmists are really starting to get on everybody's nerves. I hear it more and more each day, people who previously seemed to always be in some kind of global warming enduced trance are beginning to ask a lot of questions. The facts are 'inconvenient'. Climate alarmists are a dying breed and want to take you with them. Al Gore is a fucking JACKASS! with a nobel peace prize. A last gaspe of a dying breed. Go away please.
