Why should Taiwan engage on global warming???
They're not members of the UN...so why on earth should they bother with global warming???
Former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan said on Thursday that although Taiwan is outside the UN framework, it should still contribute to addressing the problems of global warming.Annan does't get it...did he do anything to help Taiwan get into the UN when he was Secretary-General? Why doesn't he take this issue on???Annan now heads the Geneva-based non-governmental organization the Global Humanitarian Forum, which concentrates on the humanitarian impact of climate change on the poor and other vulnerable groups.
In an informal meeting with members of the press in Geneva, Annan was asked by a CNA reporter for his views on the fact that Taiwan, the world's 22nd largest emitter of greenhouse gases, is not a member of the UN and therefore not a part of global cooperative efforts under the UN framework to fight climate change and whether the forum can facilitate the participation of non-UN member states in the global effort.

Uh but I thought that the UN wouldn't recognize Taiwan in order to please the commies in China? So why do we now have the UN trying to tell us that Taiwan is an independent regime for political expediency? Yet annother expample of leftist hypocrisy? Does it ever end? (real conservative)
