A planetary cold-spell???
Is the Sun the primary driver of our climate???
Tapping oversees the operation of a 60-year-old radio telescope that he calls a “stethoscope for the sun.” Recent magnetic field readings are as low as he’s ever seen, he says, and he’s worked with the instrument for more than 25 years. If the sun remains this quiet for another a year or two, it may indicate the star has entered a downturn that, if history is any precedent, could trigger a planetary cold spell that could bring massive snowfall and severe weather to the Northern Hemisphere.
The last such solar funk corresponded with a period of bitter cold that began around 1650 and lasted, with intermittent spikes of warming, until 1715. While there were competing causes for the climatic shift—including the Black Death’s depopulation of tree-cutting Europeans and, more substantially, increased volcanic activity spewing ash into the atmosphere—the sun’s lethargy likely had something to do with it.

It always amazes me the arrogance , stupidity or deliberate misinformation of the "Global Warming" crew.
In all of the hype , hysteria , shouting etc. I do not recall ever hearing Suzuki or any other pro-Global Warming enthusiast discuss the variability of the suns radiation.
The Global Warming enthusiasts seem to assume the sun's radiation will be a constant and hysterically claim man made warming is the only issue.
The primary contributor to the earth's temperature is radiation from the sun and no screeching from on high by Suzuki or Gore will change that.
I recalla scientist ( a russian I believe ) who predicted that we will by 2015 be entering into a cooling of the earth. With this other report I can see that we only have to wait a few years before we start laughing at the warming alarmists. I do however believe that we are presently or were in a mini global warming period, but are slowly going the other way. Think about the massive amounts of co2 and other gases released by a volcano and compare that to what man spews out in a year. No comparison.
