Toronto Star blames Israel for lack of peace...

Here's a story obstensively about Dubai not allowing Israelis in to play tennis....

The story then morphs into a story about the Arab peace plan and how everybody wants peace except Israel...
Since 2002, Arab states have made it clear they are willing to grant diplomatic recognition to Israel on the basis of what's generally known as the Arab peace plan: Israeli withdrawal from occupied Palestinian territories, the creation of a Palestinian state and an acceptable solution to the plight of millions of Palestinian refugees.

Initially, Israel rejected those terms, but there appeared to be a little more flexibility in Jerusalem beginning around July 2007.

While not defending the mixing of politics and sport, Khouri puts much of the blame on Israel.

"Every Arab country has signed on to the Arab peace plan," he said. "The Arabs would be happy to sign a peace treaty with Israel."

But Israel would have to sign it, too – and, right now, there seems little chance of that.
Not one word about Hamas and its genocidal charter. Not one word about rockets fired upon Israel. None one word about Hamas not respecting previous agreements with the Palestinian Authority. The Arab peace initiative failed because Israel could NEVER go back to 1967 'truce lines' (not borders) because Israel cannot give up West Jerusalem and access to the wailing wall, and Israel could never agree to the right of return of Palestinian refugees into Israel proper. And, of course, the article doesn't mention the generous offers made by the Israelis at Camp David and Taba which were turned down by the Palestinians - without even a counter-offer.

I thought hate speech was illegal in Canada.

I guess only against "protected" groups.
