Hirsi Ali faces student critics....
I guess it's expected...lots of students don't like her message....
Ali’s comments riled up a few Muslim audience members, who accused her of painting an overwhelmingly negative picture of Islam.
“She is exploiting American ignorance on the topic,” said 18-year-old Kameron Khan, a Bucknell freshman born in Pakistan and raised in the United States. “She has some points, but she doesn’t have enough knowledge of Muslim culture. ... I didn’t hear her say anything positive about Muslims.”
Other audience members expressed concerns similar to Khan’s. One man, also a native of Pakistan, said she was fueling a “post-9/11, anti-Islamic phobia” that permeates the minds of many Americans.
One woman thought Ali was “kind of giving a more hopeless future” for Muslim progress in Western society.
Another student called her “the bin Laden of the opposing view (of Islam).”
