More threats against Gays in Iraq....
Where's Obama when you need him? When will Ban Ki-Moon say something???
Offering the latest evidence of an organized campaign of persecution against Iraq's gay community, threatening fliers have been posted around the impoverished Shiite enclave of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad targeting homosexuals, according to residents.
"If you don't cease your perverted acts, you will get your fair punishment," read the warnings, which were posted on walls on a variety of streets around the neighborhood.
On some were scrawled the names of two or three local men suspected of being gay, says one resident, who estimates he saw about 15 names in all. The fliers were signed by a previously unknown group calling itself the Platoons of Righteousness.
In addition, graffiti reading "we will get you, puppies" -- a derogatory Iraqi term for gays -- was sprayed on walls in red paint.

Times will be tough for persecuted groups around the world. Castro's slaves, political prisoners of Hugo Chavez, gays or dissidents in the fascist republic of Iran, China - anywhere. Obama wants to get all chummy with these regimes, it might make for great photo-ops and media puff pieces about how everyone loves Him, but he won't move these regimes an inch towards human rights. Then again, it's not as though he cares.
O Bama is following the 'politically correct' path. He wants to please everyone without having the audacity to say 'enough is enough' to some regimes.
Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia do not tolerate gays but they do not hunt gays and kill them.
O Bama is a one-term president. So gays in countries like Iraq, Iran do not come into his vision.
One can only hope that Obama is attempting to win public currency by making 'outreach' gestures to the worst tyrants so when it comes time to do what inevitably must be done, he has public support. I notice that he does not say anything different than the Bush admin said, and the Iranians have noticed that as well. Even with Raoul Castro he has been clear that he wants to talk about freedom and civil and human rights for Cuba's people, nothing new there in US foreign policy. Just another round of talks. So he is either naive and thinking these regimes will change because Obama is Obama, or he is buying up the necessary credit with the US left to use the military option, one which will become the only option more sooner than later with Iran, Pakistan, and probably Russia in a small way.
