Gay Iranian Refugee accepted into Canada...
We've blogged this before that Canada was willing to accept gay refugees from Iran....the Iranian gay network is reporting the first refugee! This is from the Iranian Queer Railroad:
Saeid is 23 years old Iranian gay who left Iran for Canada one year ago. He claimed refugee status on base of his sexual orientation and well-known fear of persecution.
IRQR submitted its full report on queer human rights violation in Islamic Republic of Iran and other documents to support his asylum claim and followed up his process very seriously. We were in contact with his lawyer and Refugee and Immigration Board of Canada. We are happy to announce that his claim accepted today at his first hearing in Toronto.
IRanian Queer Railroad is helping those who escape Iran on base of their sexual orientation and seeking asylum. IRQR is proud to accompany them in this long journey but without your help our hands is so tied.

That is very good news! It's nice to know that Canada is working to help people who would otherwise be in great danger.

I'm just curious....how does someone prove they are gay when having a Same-gender marrige or making a refugee claim???
The Government does not demand that a regular marriage have the male and female prove they aren't Homosexuals , nor do they demand they have sex to prove they ARE heterosexuals.
Svend Robinson,Libby Davies,and Kathlene Wynne have all converted to the gay sex preference to further their Political career.
By their own admissions they married opposite gender people but now claim it was just one big LIE and they're really gay, but this beg the question about gays being prone to LIES or so obsessed with it they will destroy a family and hurt children to be with another partner .
It can't be both ways, either they LIED back then, OR they are telling a LIE now for Political gains.
What do we want gay dude for. Will he be a plaything for you? What's in it for the rest of us...except one more guy in favour of gay marriage?

Legitimacy of claims is a concern, of course, as one cannot easily prove they are gay. The interview process, then, would not be complete until those who stand at our gates are fully satisfied. Don't pick on issues that aren't there.
