How about getting rid of the Crescent????

And, can we add a Star of David....
The Red Cross humanitarian symbol could cause difficulties because of its associations with the Crusades, Foreign Office Minister Chris Bryant said today.

Mr Bryant voiced his concern as MPs debated adopting a new international 'red crystal' emblem which would avoid the religious connotations of the existing red cross or crescent.

The new symbol will receive the same status as the red cross and red crescent under the Geneva Conventions and United Nations Personnel (Protocols) Bill.

Cross, crescent and crystal: The Red Crystal could be used to protect medical and other relief workers in combat where the Red Cross or Red Crescent are inappropriate

Mr Bryant said the reference to the Hospitallers, a military order which took part in the Crusades, underlined the problem of the symbol's connotations.

He told MPs: 'The reference to the Crusades is therefore not lost to some people which, of course, anybody involved in the Red Cross would wholly deprecate.

'The truth of the matter is that it has been difficult in some places for us to ensure that these connotations of a religious war or a religious crusade don't undermine the work that the Red Cross or Red Crescent is able to do.'

If they have to re-paint all those Palestinian troop carriers, that will cost us a bundle.
