Netanyahu supports Palestinian State...

Well, Israel has supported a Palestinian state for years....but will the Palestinians recognize a Jewish state?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will say in a speech on Sunday he supports establishing a Palestinian state, as long as it will have no military capabilities, a government official said.

The official, who had seen the speech Netanyahu was to give near Tel Aviv shortly after 1700 GMT, told Reuters that the prime minister wanted international guarantees in advance that the Palestinians would have no army to threaten Israel.

"The prime minister will articulate tonight his acceptance of a demilitarised Palestinian state," the official said.

"The international community would have to guarantee the demilitarisation up front for Israel to accept the principle of statehood.

"The Palestinians, in any agreement, have to acknowledge Israel's legitimacy as the homeland of the Jewish people."
How many times have the Palestinians rejected their own state? In 1937, in 1948, in 1967, in 2000 (at Camp David and at Taba) and in 2009 when they didn't even respond to an offer by Ehud Olmert.

I don't know what you are saying here. Are you saying the Israelis should make no compromises and hold on to the west bank?

I am all for a Palestinian state.

Bibi only said a few few soundbites, what a shame...

Clauses should be added to any agreement guaranteeing that Palestinians are not treated as third class people by other Arab states so that they have a right to emigrate to other Arab countries.

I think it is clear that the settlement blocs that straddle the green line will stay - even the Palestinians have agreed to that in prior negotiations.
