Saudi film festival canceled...
Well...can you imagine what they would have showed???
The single film festival that was to be held in Saudi Arabia has been canceled, dealing a blow to reformists hopes of an easing of clerical control over culture. This is according to "Reuters". The festival was to be held starting Saturday.
Mandoug Salem, director of the Jeddah Film Festival confirmed the cancellation. He found out on Friday at 11pm, leaving many people who were already in the city wondering what to do.
Movie theaters have been closed for almost three decades. The "Jeddah Film Festival", was to present Saudi Arabian filmmakers with a rare opportunity to communicate with other filmmakers from other parts of the world.
