Hamas's refusal to allow Fatah delegates from the Gaza Strip to travel to the West Bank for the organization's convention last week, was the result of a directive from Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei, Saudi-owned news agency Elaph reported Friday.

According to the report, the orders were given to Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in a letter conveyed to him by Iran's Ambassador to Syria, Ahmad Mousavi.
