McChrystal has talked to Obama only once....
Gee, you'd think they'd be in regular communication, no?T
The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq says he has only spoken to President Obama once since taking command of Afghanistan.
"I've talked to the president, since I've been here, once on a VTC [video teleconferece]," General Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.
"You've talked to him once in 70 days?" Mr. Martin followed up.
"That is correct," the general replied.

What's a war with civilian and military lives at stake? Not on The Obama's top ten list. The Obama is in Europe promoting Chicago's bid for the Olympics. He's such a busy man, so many items on his agenda, which should I choose - he can hardly catch his breath. I'm beginning to wonder if he is slightly off kilter, as in unfocused, with a pathological bent for procrastination. Can the man make a decision? He is a drama prince who carries a mirror in his back pocket. The Obama has the attention span of a toddler.
Actually not that damning. US Army Chief of Staff George Marshall would have been most unhappy if FDR had had direct communication with field commanders such as Eisenhower and MacArthur (as would have been war secretary Stimson). Churchill did engage in the practice and it drove the CIGS, Alan Brook, crazy (but then Churchill had appointed himself "Minister of Defence" in May 1940.
Perhaps more relevant to the overall situation:
