Shame on Austria....
This is unacceptable behavior...
Israeli fencer Daria Strelnikov won the gold medal at the cadet's fencing world championship in Austria Saturday night. However, as the 14-year-old athlete stood at the podium waiting to hear the Israeli national anthem, she was greeted by a disturbing quiet.
Strelnikov and a fellow teammate on the podium decided to fill in the silence by singing Hatikva themselves. They were joined by their coach, and other supporting voices in the crowd.

Were they unprepared and did not find the music or do you think it was more sinister?
Could it have been a malfunction?
excuses, excuses, excuses.
The Article does not go into much detail.
Trust me..in Austria, they are very keen to avoid accusations of antisemitism. If the anthem was not played, it was not intentional.
There was an incident at the Comonwealth Games a few years back when the host country never had the Northern Irish National Anthem. As in this case, someone was sloppy but nobody thought anything sinister behind it so why would anyone, unless you were someone with a chip on their shoulder looking for anti-semitism everywhere as you obviously are, think this was sinister? In Austria of all places.
Without details "proof" I don't go off screaming fire or scandal.
I leave that to the Liberals, econuts, conspiracy brigade to rally their forces.
I believe you when you say that the Austrians will do anything to not appear anti-semitic.
But, I can easily see some politically-correct idiots deciding to NOT play the Israeli national anthem.
Afterall, people will just theorize that it was a mechanical thing, a malfunction, or just sloppiness, right?
Or they require "facts" of something sinister before rushing off to make a knee jerk reaction and branding people in a negative light.
I am open for a compelling case with facts, details if available.
Do you have any detail or facts besides what is already posted or do we take your word for it?
You have to be a complete and utter idiot, wilfully blind, to state his was not intentional.
