Time to Remember...

This is one of my favorite days of the year. It gives all of us time to remember the incredible sacrifices that our Canadian soldiers have made in the name of freedom. Canadians made important contributions to the First World War, the Second World War, and the Korean War. We have played a crucial role in peace-keeping and now peace-making all over the world. I believe we are fighting a critical battle in Afghanistan - one that will deliver a better life for millions of people. And, we'll be bringing some hearty Canadian values (like hard work, respect for others, freedom, etc) that will live on in Afghanistan long after we are gone.

So, thanks a veteran today, and thank anybody today who is in the Canadian military. They have done, and are doing, essential work.
