The treatment of women in the Muslim world is similar to the treatment of blacks in America before the Civil Rights movement successes.
We in the West should support change to equality with the same certainty as we have regarding the correctness of the racial changes that have taken place in the West.
I fear our media keep quiet about it because they are afraid that right wingers will use it to say "Yeah, that proves Muslim's are bad". But I think they are wrong to do so.
Equality of opportunity and freedom is in my opinion something that both left and right leaning people can agree on, and we should all fight for.
