Aiding Muslims in the Fight for Freedom
Here is my latest article in the Ottawa Citizen...
The West can help defeat Islamism as it did in defeating Nazism, Japanese militarism and Soviet Communism by supporting the cause of freedom among Muslims. The West needs to recognize, as anti-Islamist Muslims do, that Islam in history is open to change and reform as were once Christianity and Judaism. Indeed, reform is at stake for Muslims and for all of us non-Muslims affected directly or indirectly by the ongoing war inside Islam.

I think Canada has an obligation to assist the freedom fighters. It's only a basic human right to desire freedom and democracy. Canada is the home of many Muslim immigrants who came here seeking a better life. We owe it tot them to show our compassion for humanity. Stephan Harper has pledged 250 million dollars to the U.N. to help the displaced refugees who fled Egypt. that's a good start but it's only a start and it's not good enough.
