Bounty on 2 Canadian Arabs....
Well, there's a Canadian connection here, but not sure exactly what.
The U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice Program Wednesday offered two rewards of up to $5 million each for information about two Canadian nationals. Here is what CBC is saying:
Abderraouf Jdey and Abdelaziz Boussora are believed to have links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network, deputy department spokesman Adam Ereli said in a statement.
Jdey, also known as Faruq al-Tunisi, and Boussora, also known as Abu Yusif al-Tunisi, were both born in Tunisia, the statement said.
Tunisi "has declared his intention to become a martyr in a suicide attack and is believed to be traveling with Jdey," it added.
Their current whereabouts are unknown, Ereli told reporters.
Jdey came to Canada in 1991 and became a citizen in 1995. A former Montrealer, Jdey's image was first widely circulated by officials in January 2002.
He is thought to have left Canada for good in November 2001, just a few months after obtaining a replacement passport. He told authorities in Montreal that the passport issued to him in 1999 was lost.
