The conservatives obsession with gay marriage...

The only Parliamentary sub-committee that the Conservatives have not shut down is the one on gay marriage. And, at the hearings, Conservative Vic Toews has just launched a filibuster. He wants to hear from a Catholic bishop who claims he received threats from a Revenue Canada official over statements he made against same-sex marriage. If Toews doesn't get his way, he may want to call an additional 15 witnesses.

If there were threats, let's hear them. But, not in this committee. This neeedless committee (just how many hearings on same-sex marriage do we need?) should wrap up its work, and let Parliament vote. The Conservaties last year campaigned on having a free vote in parliament on same-sex marriage. Let's hold them to their word.
