My election prediction....

Well, I think it is time to review...I mean, change my election prediction. On December 3rd, my prediction was that the Liberals would win 120 seats and the Conservatives 102. Well, I've sort of flipped the prediction. I'm not changing the number of seats for either the Bloc or the NDP.

Here is my new prediction:

Conservatives: 118
Liberals: 104
NDP: 26
Bloc 60

I still believe that the Conservatives won't win a seat in Quebec, but we shall see.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there, Fred. La Presse has released some riding polls: in the Quebec riding of Beauce, Maxime Bernier is at 57%, while Josee Verner in Louis-St. Laurent enjoys a cushy 59% in the polls. Lawrence Cannon is also just behind the Bloc at 2%. So, I do believe the Tories will take a minimum of 2 Quebec seats this time.

So you think the Liberals will win 15 Quebec seats?

Seems unlikely.

Even though I voted Liberal, I think the Tories will win a couple seats in the Eastern Townships and Quebec City where they are strongest. Beauce and Louis-St. Laurent look pretty good for the Tories, while Pontiac should be close. I happen to agree with the overall guesses despite most people thinking the Tories will get closer to 140 seats since the gap does seem to be narrowing.
