Couldn't someone do this in Canada????

I hope he succeeds.
The fear of being branded a girly swot has long been cited as the reason some boys fail their examinations. Now this may be presented as evidence in an American schoolboy's landmark lawsuit.

In a federal civil rights action brought this month, Doug Anglin, a 17-year-old lawyer's son, is arguing that his country's education system is institutionally sexist.

He claims that American teachers push girls into top streams while discriminating against boys, creating an atmosphere in which boys inevitably fail.

With the help of his parents, he is suing the United States Department of Education.

One of the examples of sexism he has cited is the marking system that awards points for decorating exercise books. This, he says, is an activity unthinkable for any red-blooded American male.

He also complains that the American system of school rules seems designed to penalise boys, who must obtain a pass before being allowed to walk the corridors during lessons, while girls are allowed to walk around freely.
