Anti-Semitism and Anti-Zionism

An interesting look at the corelation between anti-semitism and anti-zionism.
Two Connecticut professors got curious about the constant denials that extremely harsh critics of Israel were anti-Semitic. Edward H. Kaplan, the William N. and Marie A. Beach Professor of Management Sciences at Yale, and Charles A. Small, Director of Urban Studies, Southern Connecticut State University, decided to examine the issue in formal way. Their paper, “Anti-Israel Sentiment Predicts Anti-Semitism in Europe,” appears in the August issue of the Journal of Conflict Resolution. 2

Kaplan and Small ask whether individuals expressing strong anti-Israel sentiments, such as the statement by Ted Honderich, Emeritus Grote Professor of the Philosophy of Mind and Logic at University College London, that “those Palestinians who have resorted to necessary killing have been right to try to free their people, and those who have killed themselves in the cause of their people have indeed sanctified themselves,” are more likely than the general population to also support in such old-style anti-Semitic slurs as “Jews have too much power in our country today.”

The correlation was almost perfect. In a survey of 5,000 Europeans in ten countries, people who believed that the Israeli soldiers “intentionally target Palestinian civilians,” and that “Palestinian suicide bombers who target Israeli civilians” are justified, also believed that “Jews don’t care what happens to anyone but their own kind,” “Jews have a lot of irritating faults,” and “Jews are more willing than others to use shady practices to get what they want.”

The study’s other interesting finding was that only a small fraction of Europeans believe any of these things. Anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism flourish among the few, but those few are over-represented in Europe’s newspapers, its universities, and its left-wing political parties.
Read the whole thing. This week, The Minister of Spain wear the keffiyeh and criticized Israel for "using abusive force that does not protect human beings."

I keep hearing about disproportionate response...yet no one really says what a proportionate response would be. The plain fact of the matter is that if Israel really wanted to target civilians, there'd be tens of thousands of deaths.

Antizionism neccessarily reflects on jews, because the two are closely linked. Anti jew sentiments arise out of the behaviour, comportment, actions, morality and beliefs that jews hold which are in most cases contrary to the society they live in.Their religion makes them beleive that they are God's chosen people which they interpret to mean that they are better than the socalled "goy", (non jews), and therefore taking advantage of the "goys" is only what God put them on earth for.Throughout history jews have not been wanted where ever they tried to infiltrate themselves to practise their evil deeds and even Pharao wanted to rid himself of that rotten apple in his country and made certain that he rid himself of this curse by chucking the jews out.Do jews ever stop to ask themselves why no one wants them unless they buy their way into society? Jews can not lend money to other jews and charge interest, but it is o.k. for them to lend money to "goys", hence the immage of jews as money lenders and usurers. How do you think the Rothshild's ammased their fortunes? Rothshild ( or "red shield" ,which was the sign of money lenders in Europe),was one of the principal financiers ammassed their fortunes by lending money as the Catholic church had made lending money at interest a "cardinal sin".Jews had no such restrictions placed upon them in dealing with non jews and spread throughout Europe to take full advantage of this fact. The jew's religion says: " treat every jew as you would have treat him you",implying: to hell with all others! Thus the jew's religion is exclusive of others where as the Christian religion is inclusive, making the jew what he is ,namely personna non grata in many countries.By the way, anti semitism does not pertain to jews alone as jews would like everyone to beleive since Arabs are also semites and those being called anti semite do not neccessarily dislike Arabs.Another example of jews trying to slant and distort.Benjamin Franklin urged the writers of the American constitution to make a law to exclude jews from America saying:"If we let the jews into this country our grandchildren will curse us 200 years from now."And Benjamin Franklin was no fool.

Hmm... we live in a modern world where if I borrow money from anyone or institution I fully expect to be charged interest as does any citizen in any democracy on the planet.

Bringing up some ancient tradition of jewish people treating their own better than others has exactly WHAT to do with today's conflict?? How many races, religions, civilizations, etc. have done EXACTLY the same kind of stuff for THEIR OWN over the past few thousand years? We in the modern world refer to this as history, in the past, old customs.

Get a grip on reality, what are you, a druid? Jump ahead by about 2000 years and you have reached the modern Israel in the modern world where the reality of unfounded hate for jews still exists, you should be ashamed of yourself for perpetuating more.

It is always interesting to see that those who have no counterargument stoop to personal insults, thus validating the original proposwition.
