Ezra Levant is right!

Part of the United Church of Canada is anti-semitic.
I accuse a segment of the United Church of Canada of anti-Semitism.

This is not an accusation to be made lightly.

Last week, the UCC's Toronto Conference proposed an anti-Semitic resolution to be debated at the UCC's big convention next month. The resolution demonizes the Jewish state as the cause of the problems in the Middle East, and calls for the church not to buy or invest with Israeli Jews.

No punishments are proposed for any Arab terrorist groups

The United Church is proudly anti-semitic. People who belong to the United Church hate Jews, it is that obvious.

As a lapsed UC member, I had been contemplating returning to my local church as a new minister was in the pulpit and I was curious.

Not now. I am absolutely horrified that anti-semitisim is rearing its ugly head in Canada, of all places! That it would appear in an out-of touch union, disappointing but not surprising, but in a "mainstream" church, outrageous!

As a Harper Conservative I am opposed to all forms of racism, particularly the kind that singles out Jews.

Until I see a complete, unequivical repudiation, and out right rejection by the UC church of this obnoxious stance, I will never have anything to do with that Church.

Its time that the UCC stop calling itself a church. Long ago it abandoned foundational truths that have for milenia defined Christianity and as happens to all people who reject God they like the Nazis before them have become antagonistic towards God's chosen people.

I wouldn't be "anonymous" but I haven't figured out yet how to name myself and log into a comments section: I'm blog-challenged, being new to it...

To the "anonymous" who was contemplating going back to the UCC: good choice NOT TO. Best go to either the RC Church or to a Bible-based Church (avoid the Anglican Church of Canada). My keyboard usually wants to type United Church of Canada as Untied Church of Canada: Perfect! It's Untied from the Scriptures, untied from WWJD (what would Jesus do?). They'd rather ask What would CUPE do? What would Hamas do? What would the NAC do?

Give me a break.

Did jews ever try to figure out why throughout history they are being disliked by almost every nation(other than israel)!
It seems O.K. for jews to dislike Arabs or Germans ( although they are crawling back to Germany for the money) but say one justified criticism about jews or israel and the all yell: ANTISEMITE!
Nobody dislikes a jew because he or she was born a jew, it is their behavior that makes them disliked by many.

a few of the United Church Congregations in the Vancouver South/Vancouver Burrard Presbyteries hosted speakers with very anti-Israeli positions last week at the Peace & Justice Forum....

...They spouted the usual Israel is the problem for everything in the Mid-East and the Palestianians are such misunderstood victims.

To anonymous RC:

The Catholic church killed many more children in their residential schools than the United Church did. Mind you neither has acknowledged that ANY children died in their schools, though the Anglican church has.

Religions are all fucked. They are only there to cater to the corporate bottom line. Churches are always on the side of power. that is why they have been involved in so many genocides, and the RC church is right out front on that one!
