How come Annan is silent about this?
He's alays quick on the mark to criticize Israel....
A Hizballah-based mortar attack, which fell short of its target in Israel on Sunday and injured three Chinese members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has received scant media attention and no reaction from U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan.
Late last month, after four U.N. peacekeepers were killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon, Annan said he was "shocked and deeply distressed" at the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the outpost.
While information about Sunday's incident was not immediately available from the United Nations in New York, news accounts in China reported that "A Hizballah rocket hit the Chinese contingent headquarters at 11:55 am local time (0855 GMT), causing three peacekeepers [to be] lightly injured," according to a text report from China's Xinhua News Agency.
The Chinese account added that the three UNIFIL soldiers were rushed to a hospital inside the headquarters and "their condition was stable."

The Chinese Communists are cozy with the Iranian fascists so perhaps Annan didn't want to 'go negative' on the story because it was actually a misfire when the Chinese tried to help mortar the Israelis...
Unlikely - but it does demonstrate once again the double standards of the UN - an organization that asks six million Israeli Jews to commit suicide for middle east peace - as though that would stop Arabs from killing each other! lol, lol...
The United Nations Executive, including the Secretary General, can not be everywhere all of the time.
Mr. Annan has to balance his criticisms as much as possible, being the career diplomat that he is.
Surely your question is ironically rhetorical!
