A Horrible Decision....
She gets half of his future savings....
A hefty spousal support award – that was more than twice the wife’s current needs and of which about half was aimed at helping her save for her future – has been upheld by the Ontario Court of Appeal. This is outrageous. And, she doesn't have to work.....
In August, Justices Robert Armstrong, Marvin Catzman and Michael Moldaver affirmed Superior Court Justice Denis Power’s 2004 decision ordering NHL Florida Panthers coach Jacques Martin to pay his estranged spouse, Patricia, $27,000 per month indefinitely.
The award was upheld even though the mother of two adult children acknowledged that the interim monthly support of $12,500 Martin paid her allowed her to experience the same comfortable standard of living the pair enjoyed during their 22-year cohabitation.
The spousal support award is in addition to the $1.7 million matrimonial property settlement Martin agreed to pay on the eve of the trial. The property settlement is expected, in theory, to earn the wife an investment income of $81,472 per year (calculated at 5.5 per cent). Including $324,000 in spousal support, her annual income would thus top $405,000.

You know, I thoroughly rely on you for your perspective on the middle east, but these anti-women observations make me wonder who done you wrong....
Don't worry Pal, soon gays will be a doin' it too.
Yes, indeed, it looks like we'll all have a chance to be equally miserable! hee hee
Ah yes there we go, Reporting the truth as it now just has to be "anti-women" doesn't it. Every attempt at true equality is seen the same way. "Anti-Women this" Anti-Women that". Aren't we all so sick of this ridiculous politically correct nonsense? All I can tell is that most women I meet are more than happy being women in Canada. Some have confided in me that they think they are over-protected and "coddled" and are uncomfortable with the opushing of the feminist ideology. And they don't need anyone telling them they are being oppressed because they aren't. We all know the "anti-women" scenario is a job creation exercise for the Status of Women. I can't wait till that entire bloated social horror is eliminated from the government pay books.
I would suggest to "anonymous" (funny how they are all so afraid to identify themselves eh? Too many awful dangerous Men around no doubt) that he or she come with me one day to family court and see Canadian family "justice " in action. The Nazi's couldn't have perforned better. And yes the parallels are all there.
"Anti-Women observations" ? gag.
