The Norwegians would have sent troops to Afghanistan, but the socialists said no.
Labor Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Center Party leader Åslaug Haga were ready to commit more forces to Afghanistan, but their Socialist Left (SV) alliance partners said no.NATO countries have to step up to the plate.....otherwise, why bother having NATO?
The left-center majority alliance, led by the Labor Party, had planned to send 150 special troops to southern Afghanistan, as requested by NATO, but SV made their opposition a point of principle, government sources told newspaper VG.

That matters little to the socialists, who feel it better to snub the United States at something, anything, than fulfilling any obligation they have to an alliance.
Isn't NATO supposed to be mutual defense, not mutual military operations?
Maybe the socialists are being used as an excuse in this instance. Where there is a will there is almost always a way.
