Garth Turner

I have to say I think that Garth Turner is right. The Conservatives have over-reacted to him from the beginning. From what I can tell, he is a hugely-popular MP and I firmly believe he should not be de-selected. If he was a Conservative MP in the UK, none of this would have happened and he'd still be sitting in the government benches....

Fred, I usually agree with you and I am an admirer of John Howard's but I think you are wrong on this one.

I have seriously soul searched regarding Garth and he really comes up empty. His latest grand standing about "disturbing information" amounted to what exactly?? This really is all about GARTH TURNER and no one else, that is all I see now.

His party felt that they could no longer trust him or speak freely, he was a hindrance to honest and open debate. Once that is gone what do you have?

I believe it is your right to whether that should be defining or not but having sat on several boards I know that if trust or confidence is not felt then nothing will ever be discussed, changed or acted upon.

Fred,
Notice there have been no leaks lately? hmmmm If his own caucus can't trust him, why should his constituents?
Garth will be campaigning for Lizzy May, as announced minutes after he resigned.

Mr. Big will, over time drive Greens nuts, and will get the boot there too. They are just really desperate to get into the HofC
Libs don't want him, check out their blogs.

I like Garth Turner....and I believe that he will win re-election in Halton as an independent. He will be come another Chuck Cadman and the Conservatives will regret it.

Garth made some good points in his press conference....no free votes in this parliament yet....he was given no reason why he can't be a conservative candidate....etc...

Fred,

Turner's treatment proves how incompetent and corrupt the Harper government is, and how much we need Bob Rae and the Liberals back in power.

I fully invite you to leave the party you so stubornly support, and support a real Canadian institution, the Liberal Party of Canada.

Well Fred, gotta say that I can agree that there are good points to The Garth but the bottom line is that if you can't trust someone with confidential info., what good are they to have around?

Booting him was the right thing to do and more power to the people of his riding if they vote him in again. I personally think that he's a done unit.

Pat
