Another data point for global warming?

When the winter is over, we'll count up all the deaths due to cold....but, how about this...snow in Kathmandu.
Snow fell on Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, for the first time in 63 years on Wednesday, stirring excitement and curiosity among residents and their children.

"I have never seen it snow in Kathmandu in all my life," said 45-year-old housewife Manju Shrestha, playing in the snow with her young children.

Weather officials said the brief snowfall, which lasted only a few minutes, was the result of a "westerly disturbance" over Nepal that earlier in the week caused heavy rains.

Though the Himalayan country is home to
Mount Everest, Kathmandu, with a population of 1.5 million people, is situated in a valley and has not had snow since January 1944, according to Independent Kantipur television.

It said one young man was killed in the icy weather in the western Palpa district.

Stephen Harper's refusal to follow the recently passed Bill in the Commons proves how arrogant and out of touch he truly is!

Parliament is supreme, and must be listened to. Harper is a dictator, and the majority of Parliament want's Kyoto to be fully implemented....This is the best way for the Harper government to fall and the Dion government to rise.

It's funny that Liberals are calling this a coup d'etat, yet when faced with a bill that parliment passed calling on the government to resign, they ignored it.

To dqhtwwi - The Liberals are hypocrites, pure and simple. If you believe the Liberals can be trusted to implement Kyoto in a timely, meaningful manner without destroying the economy, then I must wonder if you also believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, or the Great Pumpkin.

Yep. Definitive proof that global warming isn't happening after all.

You still don't understand the meaning of "better safe than sorry."

Let's work together to do our part in reducing climate change while retaining the strength of our economy.

It's not worth the risk of being wrong to shout your own beliefs.

I'm not saying Kyoto is right, but I am saying that not being cautious is wrong.
