Horticulture and sugar cane farmers are also assessing frost damage in south-east Queensland.
Records have been broken this week as the mercury hit sub zero temperatures across parts of the Sunshine state.
Gympie recorded its coldest temperature this morning, with minus three point six breaking the 1971 record low of minus three point three.
Nearer the coast in the Bundaberg district, zucchinis, tomatoes, chillies and sweet potatoes have been damaged by frost.

All your hot weathers are now ours!
One of the latest and greatest articles on 'global warming/climate change' told us that it would mean it might be wetter and drier, hotter and colder.
What they really did not want to say is that we would still have 'weather' in the future.
