More on the black muslims in Oakland....
Sounds like a very dangerous group...
A fifth man with ties to Your Black Muslim Bakery was arrested Wednesday in connection with the kidnap-torture of an Oakland mother and daughter - a crime authorities say happened just 15 days after the suspect was acquitted of murder in San Francisco.
Richard Lewis, 23, also known as Rakeem Kahlil Bey, was arrested in the May 17 kidnap-torture case when he came to an Oakland courtroom for an unrelated misdemeanor case, police said.
Alameda County Deputy District Attorney Scott Patton said Lewis would face charges similar to those filed against the other four bakery defendants, including false imprisonment, kidnapping and torture.
Prosecutors say bakery members kidnapped the mother and her adult daughter because the group's leader, Yusuf Bey IV, believed they could reveal where a local drug dealer kept his money.
The women were abducted after leaving a bingo hall. They were pulled over on Interstate 580 in Oakland by masked men in what appeared to be a police car but in fact was a decommissioned police cruiser purchased at an auction in Antioch, investigators said.
The men covered the women's faces and took them to an abandoned home in Oakland, where the daughter was cut repeatedly in the head and beaten in the knees with a baseball bat.
Lewis was among the bakery members in the abandoned home, according to an affidavit filed in support of the charges. His DNA was found on a knife used during the attack, authorities said.
The women's ordeal ended when a patrol officer spotted the car resembling a police cruiser and approached the house. The men fled, leaving behind two cars and a cell phone that investigators linked to Joshua Bey, Yusuf Bey's half brother. He was later arrested and charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and torture.
