Funding Imams in Belgium....
Why are they funding imams in Belgium??? And, why are they funding Catholic priests???
The king signed the decree on Monday granting official recognition to the imams working in the 43 mosques recognised by the Walloon region, Le Soir reports.Fifty imams will receive their salaries from the state starting next month, just as Catholic priests do. The recognition of the 43 mosques had already been approved by the Walloon minister of home affairs Philippe Courard in June. Now that the imams have been recognised on the national level they will be granted a salary and pension from the federal justice ministry.
The number of imams recognised depends on the number of congregants per mosque. "Most of the mosques (37) have to be satisfied with one imam, five other have the right to two, and one mosque is entitled to three imams," according to the office of outgoing justice minister Laurette Onkelinx.

The Catholic Church receives funding in exchange for the confiscation of their properties.

The other Churches receive funding because the Catholic Church does, even if they never had properties to confiscate..
Hmmm... John Tory, are you getting this? Even eighteenth century "progressives" were smart enough to realize that church and state were better off separated.
