Our very own honour killing....

Finally, one we can call our own....i imagine the feminists will be out protesting...

A 16-year-old girl is dead and her father has been charged with murder after an attack in a Mississauga home.

Aqsa Parvez, a student at Applewood Heights Secondary School, had been on life support in hospital since yesterday morning.

Police went to the family's two-storey home on Longhorn Trail about 8 a.m. yesterday after receiving a 911 call in which a man allegedly claimed to have killed his daughter.

Paramedics found Aqsa with a faint pulse and rushed her to hospital. She was later transferred to a Toronto hospital and placed on life support.

Peel police said this morning that she died overnight.

Friends at the victim’s school said she feared her father and had argued over her desire to shun the hijab, a traditional shoulder-length head scarf worn by females in devout Muslim families.

Well - I was waiting for the outrage, but I guess the feminists are too busy protesting the government's environemental programme or peeking over someone's shoulder to ensure the laptop wallpaper is approrpriate or debating when to launch their next drive by smear. Give them time -- as soon as they figure out how to get a buck from this, they will be all over it.

This is what I posted at BackseatBlogger but my outrage over this makes me repeat myself:

Why is this not being reported as a hate crime??

For god sake the NDP link James Moore looking at his bikini clad girlfriend to violence against women yet where are they on this?

This is DISGUSTING! We keep being told that we are supposed to accomodate and tolerate different cultures, why are people like this not being forced to take sensitivity training themselves? Their whole families if need be.

The media has already buried this one, CTV website does not even mention it now. Don’t want to offend, right??

Damned leftys don't have the balls to stand up for this poor girl, bloody bunch of hypocrits.

Fred, I wish this was our first such honour killing but it is not. I am very upset over the death of this beautiful young and promising woman.

You're from Ottawa so you will remember the Muslim man who shot his sister and her fiancee in the parking lot of the Elmvale Shopping centre. They both died. The brother and his family objected to his sister's choice of husband. IMO that was an honour killing. There have been others is Canada. So sad.

Canadians agree with Muslims - their females are cattle and can be treated as such, it's very open minded. Hence, no blather from the usual suspects who decry the number of female plumbers or repeat statistical fantasies.

Since when did being a proponent of basic, universal human rights become shameful and politically incorrect? Cultural and moral relativism aren't helping this issue.

As my friend exclaimed when I told her of the press's response to this murder. . .how can people expect to properly address this problem when they won't even properly name it?

Or, as another friend says, some people are so open minded their brains have fallen out.

Q: Where was Fred when "Canada's Best Blogger" was sidling up to a self-confessed "full-time Nazi" calling for the murder of homosexuals?

A: Nowhere.

I wonder what far-left feminist, social worker, and former Ontario NDP attorney general Marion Boyd - she of the sweetheart deal for "victim of male violence" Karla Homolka - has to say about this in light of her pro-sharia law/cultural affirmation stance.

Probably zilch.

I would hope the Candadian feminists would have more moral outrage than the American feminists over the crimes committed against women under the guise of family "honor."

As a woman who came of age in the 60s, was a charter subscriber to Ms. Magazine, etc., I am sickened by the silence from such "vocal" women.

The victims' screams have been silenced. We must take up their cries and champion basic human rights. Policital correctness, moral and cultural relativism are a cop-out when it comes to basic human rights.
