Mohammed set to become most popular name in the UK...

Last year, it was number two...
Mohammed is set to overtake Jack as the most popular boys' name in Britain as a result of the high birth rate in Muslim families, which is driving the British population to a record high.

A report from the Office of National Statistics says the highest birth rates are in the Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, both predominantly Muslim.

ack was the most popular boys' name last year, chosen for 6,928 babies. Mohammed - taking into account all of its variant spellings - overtook Thomas to lie in second place with 5,991 babies named.

Muhammad Anwar, a professor of ethnic relations at Warwick University, said: "Muslim parents like to have something that shows a link with their religion.

"The Muslim population is generally young and you expect a higher birth rate."

The "Islamik Republik of Britain"?

We're going a bit overboard there, aren't we? I mean, I believe there are still less than 2 million Muslims in Britain. This accounts for well less than 4% of the population. Before we start worrying about the hordes overtaking the island, perhaps we can cool our jets until they hit 5% of the population?

Then I guess we should panic! Whatever will the other 95% of the people do to stay in control?!?!?

The British will surrender control in an orderly fashion. Not to worry, they have already started the process in earnest since they firmly believe Britain has contributed nothing to the world. And if this is the end result of a thousand years of England, they may well be right.
