Shame on Janice Kennedy
Janice Kennedy is a columnist for the Ottawa Citizen. Here is her Father's Day column.
Here's what she had to say about her father:
Since I cannot mark Father's Day (my father having died 23 years ago this weekend), I haul out fond memories of him instead. I also consider what a fine dad my husband has been to our three grown kids -- including two feminist daughters of a feminist mother. They will be celebrating him today. That's it. The rest of her column is a raging screed about how fair feminists are and how unfair we are to criticize them. Geez...on the one day of the her to honour fathers, Janice Kennedy can only think of feminists.
Towards the end of the article she claims the following:
Despite truckloads of welcome progress, women today are still behind the eight-ball in a world where men call most of the shots. Check the male-to-female ratio in government and the corporate world. Look at the poverty and wage gap statistics. Take an honest look at domestic homicides and violence against women (without -- oh, please -- trying to skew the issue with the obscene claim that women are as bad as men). Listen to the gender-specific hatred (Hillary Clinton could give you a few examples) that still rises to the surface in gender-neutral situations. Consider the lives of women in distant repressive societies where to be female is to be in danger.Ony the last sentence is true. The male-to-female ratio in government has nothing to do with discrmination - it has more to do with career choices. The wage gap goes away when you factor in part-time work, experience, education, etc. The poverty gap - gee, has she ever noticed that 90% of the homeless are men? Or, noticed that there are over 500 shelters for women in Canada and not one for me? And, Hillary Clinton trotted out the race card when it suited her fancy!
Shame on you Janice! You could have written a fine article about the men in your life. But no, on Father's Day, you chose to talk feminism. Shame.

She is one of the reasons I ended my subscription to the Citizen.
I hope there'll be lots of letters to her editor today... (hint hint)
Further proof that modern feminism isn't about equality; it's about revenge for a perceived victimization. She trots out the word feminism as if it would distinguish herself as being above board, but then digs as deep as one can go to focus on victimization. It's on the same wavelength as those in Canada who confuse anti-Americanism as intelligent political discussion.
Her choosing this day to focus on the problems of women instead of focusing on celebrating the fantastic contributions that the male side of the species contributes to this world is a clear sign she doesn't give a rat's ass about men and woman being equally praised. Just look at how much time she spends on the article praising specific men before she turns it into a rant about how bad men are. No equality in time. No equality in content. No equality in consideration.
No equality. Why? That's not what she's after.
It's simply One more reason to attck the MSM and refuse to do business with those companies who advertise with them.
The mainstream news is rife with these useless people. It's not going to realize this and change so it's better that it continues (and accelerates) its decline.
Some time ago I was debating with a journalist on the internet. When he could not counter my accusations against his peers he (of course) tried to be "buddy-buddy" with me. (Journalists are shameless weaklings).
In trying be my friend he asked, "Why do you have such a hatred for the news media?"
Well, here you go. Read this article and the ten thousand like it. I would not be so resentful if there were, in the same issue, or another newspaper an article which, just as vigorously condemned feminists- [on Father's Day] but here isn't. If there were a balance I would have nothing to be angry about. But only one viewpoint is shown.
When you boil it down, the greatest cause of poverty is the breakdown of the family unit.
Here's another Father's Day message that puts the focus where it should be for at least one day: Dads.
God bless the Dads out there today.
Feme's are about self.
Feminists in North America are too busy holding up the white man as a symbol of power and genius to be concerned with a bunch of dark skinned women owned by men in other countries.
Feminist adoration of the white male is their all-consuming passion, while I can appreciate that, the fact is that the greatness and ubiquitous abilities of the white man are not as true as they think. Sigh.
I often dream of seeing her arrested for hate crimes against tmen, fathers and the family. I only know of one other raving spitting radical feminist journalists more loathesome than Kennedy. The repulsive Mindelle Jacobs
