Another union leader who should be fired...
South African won't unload Israeli goods...
The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union declared Wednesday it would boycott all Israeli goods coming into South Africa's ports, drawing accusations of "unfair targeting" and "ignorance" from the local Jewish community and Israel's Foreign Ministry.
Randall Howard, general secretary of the union, said Wednesday the dock workers won't unload ships carrying goods from Israel as an act of solidarity with the Palestinians.
"The historic and heroic struggle of the Palestinian people for self-determination ... is a struggle that SATAWU supports," he said. "If it's an Israeli product, we're going to boycott it, plain and simple," he said.

The SATAWU is an affiliate of COSATU, South Africa's largest trade union federation. There is a tripartite alliance between COSATU, the ANC and the SACP (Communist Party.)
This boycott should be assumed to be semi-official.
