Don't wear an IDF T-shirt to class....
It will get people upset....
Universities are supposed to be bastions of free speech but Evan Babins found himself amidst increasing tensions on the York University campus when he wore an Israeli Defence Forces t-shirt to class last month.
The Thornhill resident was stunned last month, leaving his business course, when the teaching assistant his ordered him never to wear the shirt in class again .
"I couldn't really talk, I was shocked," Mr. Babins recalled.
He made the allegations, in a letter written to the university's office of student conduct and dispute resolution.
"How can someone tell me what to wear and not wear to school? Isn't York University a place where free thought and freedom of speech are allowed?" Mr. Babins wrote.
After the incident he contacted Daniel Ferman, a fellow Westmount CI graduate and head of Hillel at York, the Jewish student union. They await a response from the school's associate dean.

Why are there still Jewish people at York U?
Masochism?
Sheer stupidity?
Useful idiocy?
All of the above?
Anonymous, your comment is ignorant and offensive on some many levels. Look at a bloody map. Thornhill has the largest percentage of Jews in Ontario and it's about 15 minutes away from York University. Why should a student be forced to attend a school farther away from home because of some small minded bigots.
To be fair to the first anon, I think he meant to ask, in a round about way, why Jewish people would bother going to such a school that so obviously despises them.
The only acceptable type of dress on Canadian university campuses is a hijab or keffiyeh and a tee-shirt with the slogan "death to all jews".
What is this TA's position on Che T-shirts?
Hope.

Gee, I thought Concordia University had problems, but York takes the cake with its strikes, Hate Israel Weeks and now sartorial censorship.
Perhaps he could wear one of the latest IDF tee shirts to campus.

Freedom of speach and all that?
The whole "Jews aren't safe at York" myth is a crock cooked up by a few extremists around Hillel and Hasbara and ignores the extreme aggressiveness used by Israel supporters on campus (not all of whom are Jews - and indeed most Jews on campus are not involved with these groups)
i dont know who got this information but this article is about me and i did not give you permission to use my name or my information.
thanks
